Chassis & Bumper.

The chassis is updated to match the new front bumper design that improves clearance and reduces contact with the track surface. The new front bumper is now perfectly aligned with the chassis plate, allowing for a lower ride height without the bumper extending below minimum clearance requirements. The lower ride height helps improve handling on high speed and high traction surfaces, and the improved clearance means less chance for upsetting the buggy’s stability on jumps and landings, all of which contributes to faster lap times and more consistent results. The chassis plate includes multiple mounting positions for the rear transmission to adjust wheelbase.

I.S.S.™ Suspension Holders.

The new A & B front suspension holders are now 3mm wider to increase corner speed, drivability, as well as help improve the jumping and landing of the car. The drivability is significantly improved, but most importantly, leads to faster and more consistent lap times. The wider C & D rear suspension holders are also included as standard, improving on-power stability as well as drivability.

Front Drive Shafts.

Both Carpet and Dirt versions feature longer 84mm front drive shafts to accommodate the wider front suspension geometry.

Central Dogbone Drive Shafts.
The central drivetrain features two different lengths of rear dogbone. The XB4C includes the 117mm rear dogbone needed for the long wheelbase configuration with the rear gearbox mounted in a rear position on the chassis. The XB4D standard setup uses the short wheelbase configuration with the rear gearbox mounted in a front position on the chassis. This requires the included 113mm dogbone.

Transmission Position.

The chassis plate features multiple rear transmission mounting positions, creating a short or standard wheelbase adjustment to adapt the XB4 handling to any track condition. Standard wheelbase position is suitable in high traction conditions to improve stability (XB4C). Short wheelbase position is suitable for lower traction surfaces to increase rear traction (XB4D).

Heavy Duty Turnbuckles.

All-new 3.5mm Heavy Duty Turnbuckles together with the new 5.4mm Heavy Duty Ball Joints and Ball Ends ensure super strong and more reliable steering & camber links.
The new composite ball joint design reduces bind for smooth suspension and steering movement.

Front Suspension Arms.

Front suspension arms are molded from a Graphite composite mixture for the Carpet version, and a Hard composite mixture for the Dirt version, each particularly suited for their specific version.

Rear Suspension Arms.

New rear suspension arms add an extra inner shock mounting position. The geometry achieved with this inner shock location combined with the wider C&D suspension holders and short suspension arms helps generate more traction and improve rotation.

Shock Mounting Adapter.

XRAY’s unique lower shock mounting adapters offer two mounting alternatives to create different stability characteristics while lowering the overall shock placement and CG. The inner shock mounting position increases reactivity of the car, while the outer position increases stability. The Shock Mounting Adapters are suggested for higher traction conditions and as such are included in XB4C only.

Steering Blocks.

The new steering block features carbon fiber extension plates for easy adjustment of the steering characteristic. The steering block comes with a 2 dots extensions. Optional 1 dot and 3 dots extensions are available to alter the steering characteristics. The included steering blocks are moulded from the Graphite composite mixture to increase steering response.

Caster Blocks.
Both XB4 versions feature caster blocks moulded using the Graphite composite mixture to improve handling. The stiff and light material improves consistency and steering response. Different caster blocks hardness choices are available to tune set-up for any track condition.

Rear Uprights.

Completing the suspension hub update, the rear uprights with lower roll center positions are also molded from a Graphite composite mixture material. The hub geometry improves performance, rear end stability, and helps to reduce suspension collapse in high-speed corners.

Steering System.
The Carpet and Dirt version each feature a different steering plate. The XB4C includes an aluminum steering plate, while the XB4D comes with the Graphite composite steering plate. Each steering plate is carefully chosen to maximize performance for each kit’s particular requirement.

Front and Rear Gear Differential.

The front and rear gear diffs in both kit versions now include steel satellite gears for improved efficiency and increased lifespan.
Shock Towers.

Shock towers feature lowered shock positions for both front and rear suspension. Lowering the shocks increases stability and cornering speed, and contributes to a more precise feeling. As a result of the speed of the cars and tracks’ grip levels increasing, the shocks were lowered to increase the stability and improve the overall handling of the car.

Big Bore Shocks.

The big bore 13.2mm shock absorber length was shortened to provide proper suspension travel with the new shock tower geometry. The shock body and shock shaft were shortened to produce the necessary compression and extension range of motion.

Shock Adjustments.

The all-new spring collars and lower ball joints are available in various sizes to allow easy adjustment of ride height and droop. The spring collars are available in 3 different heights: 0mm, -2mm and -4mm. This allows for a wider range of ride height adjustments without changing spring lengths to achieve a desired ride height. Using a lower collar will lower the minimum ride height for a given spring. The ball joints are available in 3 different lengths: 0mm, +2mm and +4mm. This allows for a convenient droop setting. Using a longer ball joint will increase the overall shock length and will increase the suspension droop at full extension.

Anti-roll Bars.

Both Carpet and Dirt edition include shorter anti-roll bars with easily adjustable height for better functionality. The Front and Rear anti-roll bar wires were shortened to fit the new system. Both the front and rear anti-roll bar wires can be height adjusted using ball studs to set perfectly equal engagement between left and right.

Servo Mount.

The aluminum monoblock one-piece servo holder features a more rigid and flex-free servo attachment. The holder is mounted using only 2 screws along the chassis centerline, ensuring equal left-to-right flex. The ultra-strong construction offers exceptional durability.

Wheel Hubs.

The Carpet and Dirt version include different wheel hexes to optimize geometry for their intended track conditions. Carpet version includes +1/+3 slot hex. Dirt version includes 0/+2 slot hex.

High Traction Body.

The XB4C now includes the lightweight version of the Delta 4C body. This helps with lowering the CG and improving the overall handling of the car. The XB4 Carpet and Dirt Editions each feature XRAY Delta bodies with narrower front and rear sections matching the chassis & side guards.

XRAY Delta bodies feature super-smooth airflow and appropriate downforce characteristics fine-tuned for their intended conditions. The Carpet Edition of the Delta body is designed especially for high traction conditions and improves the stability in the fast corners, chicanes and improves rotation in tight corners. The Delta Carpet body is also available in thicker version.

Low Traction Body.

The XB4D now includes the lightweight version of the Delta 4D body. This helps with lowering the CG and improving the overall handling of the car. The Dirt Edition Delta body incorporates the same narrowed front & rear sections that follow the shape of the chassis & side guards.

The Dirt edition of the XRAY XB4 Delta body is designed for low traction conditions. The design improves the stability and increases traction. The Delta Dirt body is also available in lightweight version.

Wheels.
The included HARD wheels are IFMAR standardized with the wheel hex offset and offer better traction and car control in high-competition racing. The wheels feature a redesigned countersunk center area to allow the wheel nut to sit deeper in the wheel.

They feature internal reinforcement ribs to provide stability and resist deformation, yet they are made from a flexible material to provide durability and withstand impacts. The side of the wheel is aerodynamic for maximum performance. The wheels were designed to provide maximum traction. The wheels feature a 12mm internal hex.
