Chassis.
A completely new and improved thinner one-piece chassis design with a wider rear section improves traction and stability on all surfaces. The wider rear part of the chassis provides new flex characteristics that improves overall handling.
Flat Chassis Brace.
The bottom aluminum Flat Chassis Brace is completely new and XRAY’s innovative concept in the off-road category to adjust flex to match the traction levels of the track. This brace is mounted directly onto the chassis and is connected with the rear gearbox and RF suspension holder.
Side Braces.
Redesigned longer side braces match the new chassis design. The longer braces extend the longitudinal chassis flex control to improve consistency on the track. The left side brace also allows for a fan to be mounted directly to the brace for enhanced motor cooling.
Universal Gearbox Concept.
XRAY presents a unique Universal Gearbox platform design that allows using either the updated 3 gear 3G Gearbox or the new optional 5 gear 5G Gearbox without changing the chassis plate of the Carpet or Dirt version of the XB2.
3G Gearbox.
Updated 3G Gearbox integrates with the lower Flat Chassis Brace. The weight bias of the 3G transmission creates a balance between steering and stability that is well suited for a wide variety of track conditions on dirt, clay, turf or carpet. The 3G Gearbox is included in both XB2C and XB2D, with the universal design allowing easy & fast changes between 3G and optional 5G without changing the chassis.
Slipper Clutch.
The Carpet and Dirt versions come with unique 2-pad slipper assemblies that share the same top shaft, slipper pads and spring nut. XB2C uses ventilated slipper plates for additional cooling to dissipate the excess heat created on carpet. XB2D includes solid slipper plates with larger engagement area for smoother slippage to help generate more traction.
Motor Mount.
Redesigned and unified motor mount for 3G Gearbox takes advantage of the additional chassis clearance and lowers the motor position for lower CG.
Suspension Holders.
New design of the rear-front RF (C) suspension holder integrates with the Flat Chassis Brace to create a solid assembly for increased stability.
Rear Roll Center Holder.
New aluminum Rear Roll Center Holder is included in each kit. Its centering milled area for the anti-roll bar collar eliminates play and improves the precision of the anti-roll bar movement. The new holder also adds an extra middle pivot ball mounting position for additional roll center tuning. The aluminum holder increases strength & reliability over the previous composite part.
Front Suspension Arms.
Shorter front suspension arms reduce front-end dive in high-speed corners. This update improves corner speed and increases overall steering. The XB2C includes arms of the stiffest Graphite composite material to make the car more precise and consistent in higher traction conditions. The XB2D includes arms of Hard composite material that is more flexible than Graphite, generating more front-end traction in lower traction conditions.
Rear Suspension Arms.
Updated rear suspension arms add a new inside shock mounting position for additional geometry choices, improving the XB2’s ability to adapt to any track conditions. The XB2C includes arms of the stiffest Graphite composite material to make the car more precise and consistent in higher traction conditions. The XB2D includes arms of Hard composite material that is more flexible than Graphite, generating more rear-end grip in lower traction conditions.
Shock Mounting Adapter.
XRAY’s unique lower shock mounting adapters offer two mounting alternatives to create different stability characteristics while lowering the overall shock placement and CG. The inner shock mounting position increases reactivity of the car, while the outer position increases stability. The Shock Mounting Adapters are suggested for higher traction conditions and as such are included in XB2C only.
Steering Blocks.
The included steering blocks are moulded from XRAY’s stiffest Graphite composite mixture that increases steering response. The carbon 2-dots steering block extensions provide balanced steering & feel in all conditions.
Caster Blocks.
Caster blocks are moulded from XRAY’s stiffest Graphite composite mixture to increase steering response. Different caster block hardness choices are available to fine tune the set-up for all different track conditions.
Rear Uprights.
Rear Uprights are moulded from XRAY’s stiffest Graphite composite mixture to enhance performance in typical medium to high traction conditions found at most tracks. The rear lowered roll center position ensures stability and reduces collapse of the suspension in high-speed corners.
Heavy Duty Turnbuckles.
All-new 3.5mm Heavy Duty Turnbuckles together with the new 5.4mm Heavy Duty Ball Joints and Ball Ends ensure super strong and more reliable steering & camber links. The new composite ball joint design reduces bind for smooth suspension and steering movement.
Shock Towers.
Front and rear carbon shock towers are updated with lower geometry. Lowering the shocks increases stability, cornering speed and makes the handling feel more precise. Thanks to the chassis design, the car’s traction has improved, and the lower shocks help to further improve the handling of the car.
Big Bore Shocks.
The big bore 13.2mm shock absorber length was shortened to provide proper suspension travel with the new shock tower geometry. The shock body and shock shaft were shortened to produce the necessary compression and extension range of motion.
Shock Adjustments.
The all-new spring collars and lower ball joints are available in various sizes to allow easy adjustment of ride height and droop. The spring collars are available in 3 different heights: 0mm, -2mm and -4mm. This allows for a wider range of ride height adjustments without changing spring lengths to achieve a desired ride height. Using a lower collar will lower the minimum ride height for a given spring. The ball joints are available in 3 different lengths: 0mm, +2mm and +4mm. This allows for a convenient droop setting. Using a longer ball joint will increase the overall shock length and will increase the suspension droop at full extension.
Anti-roll Bars.
The rear anti-roll bar mounting system is redesigned to use the center-fitted locking collar to eliminate side play and improve efficiency of the anti-roll bar movement. The locking collar is now used on both front and rear anti-roll bars.
Servo Mount.
To increase strength, rigidity and to provide more predictable, precise & more consistent steering, the servo mounts are now made from aluminum and feature a carbon connecting top plate that also serves as a transponder holder.
Electronics Plate.
Electronics plate is now included for convenient ESC and receiver installation. This makes for easy mounting as well as quick removal of the electronics during maintenance. The plate position can be shifted to the front or rear to move the electronics for a simple weight bias adjustment.
Motor Cooling.
Multiple cooling fan mounting locations allow fine tuning weight bias, adapting to electronics placement on the chassis, or installing multiple fans for additional cooling. Optional cooling fans can be mounted using the composite holder in front of the motor or using the left side guard’s integrated mounting points. The composite holder attaches to the chassis using one screw and one locating pin to minimize vibrations and increase fan lifespan.
Wings.
The front Wide Ribbed wing is now included and works perfectly with the body to increase the front down force. The rear wings generate maximum traction, jump stability, and a significant lifespan. The front and rear wings are included in both kit versions.
High Traction Body.
The new lightweight version of the Epsilon 2C body for high traction conditions was updated to fit the wider chassis, longer side guards, and provide clearance for the 3G and new optional 5G gearboxes.
The shape of the Epsilon 2C body enhances stability and corner speed for maximum pace.
Low Traction Body.
The new lightweight version of the Epsilon 2D body for low traction conditions was also updated to fit the wider chassis, longer side guards, and clear both the 3G and new optional 5G gearboxes.
The shape of the Epsilon 2D body increases rear traction and calms overall handling to help improve consistency.
